Step Ahead Initiative

Strong communities start with early awareness.

Secondary caregivers in our communities need support. Educators and childcare providers are often the first to notice concerns, but may lack the tools to guide families effectively.

The Step Ahead Initiative brings Early Motion Matters beyond the family circle and into schools, childcare centers, and community organizations. By partnering with educators and leaders, we raise awareness of developmental milestones, promote healthy movement, and ensure no child slips through the cracks.

Awareness prevents delays. When teachers, staff, and community leaders recognize the signs of developmental milestones, more children are identified early and connected to the help they need.

Communities grow stronger. A shared understanding of childhood development helps create environments where all children can thrive.

Community Resources

What support from the Step Ahead Initiative looks like:

  • Practical sessions for teachers, caregivers, and community workers on how to recognize and support milestones.

  • Printable guides, posters, and checklists designed for classrooms, childcare centers, and community spaces.

  • Collaborative projects with schools and organizations to integrate milestone awareness into everyday practice.

  • Community outreach through events, local media, and social platforms to spread the importance of early motion and development.
