Our Commitment

At Early Motion Matters, our commitments are the promises we live by each and every day. They guide how we design our programs, how we treat families, how we engage with communities, and how we steward the trust given by supporters. We hold ourselves to these high standards because every child, family, and community deserves nothing less.

Core Commitments

Free & Accessible Programming. We commit that all classes, workshops, and core resources will remain free for participating families. No one will be turned away due to inability to pay.

Professional Excellence. Our programs are designed and delivered by licensed Physical and Occupational Therapists. We use best practices, evidence-based research (including CDC developmental milestone standards), and continuous professional development to ensure high quality.

Holistic Development. We recognize that children’s growth isn’t just physical. We commit to supporting all developmental domains: motor/physical, cognitive, social-emotional, and language, through our curriculum, resources, and parent education.

Timely Early Support. We commit to early detection and intervention: educating families about milestones, signs of concern, and facilitating or referring to professional help when delays, regression, or risk factors emerge.

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion. We pledge that all programming, resources, staffing, and leadership reflect and honor the diversity of our communities (race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, language, ability, etc.). We will reduce barriers (physical, linguistic, financial, cultural) so every child and family has an equitable opportunity to participate and benefit.

Transparency & Accountability. We commit to being open with our financials, governance, outcomes, and policies. This includes sharing how donor dollars are used, reporting impact (quantitative and qualitative), disclosing nonprofit compliance documents (like bylaws, COI, whistleblower policies), and being responsive to feedback and questions from families and stakeholders.

Community Partnership & Collaboration. We will work with schools, healthcare providers, community-based organizations, families, and public health agencies. We commit to co-creating programs and resources with community input, not designing in isolation. Our outreach programs will be responsive to local needs and context.

Sustainability & Stewardship. We commit to using resources — financial, human, and environmental — wisely. We plan for long-term impact, maintain the integrity of our programs, and ensure our growth is responsible, resilient, and ethically managed.

Measurement & Evidence

We believe in accountability and continuous learning. That means not only setting commitments, but also reflecting on how well we’re living up to them.

  • We will evaluate our programs regularly to ensure they remain free, professional, accessible, and impactful.

  • We will seek feedback from families, therapists, community partners, and supporters to guide improvements.

  • We will share stories of progress alongside meaningful data, knowing that numbers alone never capture the whole picture.

  • As we grow, we will refine how we measure success, adapting our approach to best reflect the real impact on children, families, and communities.

  • We commit to publishing updates that are honest, transparent, and understandable — in annual reports, newsletters, and other channels.

Our measurement practices may evolve, but our commitment to openness and accountability never will.

Our Promise to You

We promise that your trust matters. When you participate, support, volunteer, or partner with Early Motion Matters, we commit to holding ourselves to the highest standards to be worthy of your hope, your time, and your generosity.

If you believe in these commitments — in prevention over reaction, in equity, in dignity for every child — then you’re already a part of Our Mission.
